A busy four months

Cornerstone has only been open four months, and yet so much has already happened, with so much more yet to come!

Last autumn events were held raising many thousands of pounds for Music in Hospitals Wales, Ty Hafan and the Princes Gate Trust and yesterday the first of twenty free concerts in care homes in the Archdiocese has been given as a direct result of this fund raising activity

A Beaujolais Nouveau Day raised over £38,000 for the George Thomas Hospice, and Cornerstone also hosted the Welsh Hearts Christmas Ball and a fundraiser for the Lions International Hampers for Pensioners in South Wales both of which raised significant funds for these causes

We have also seen lots of children at Cornerstone taking part in the schools Really Rubbish Campaign, and with a new School Visit Education Pack underway we are looking forward to seeing many more children visit the Cathedral and Cornerstone this year.

The Formal Opening of Cornerstone on 16th December by HRH the Prince of Wales was a marvellous occasion, rapidly followed by a busy Christmas especially for our partner charities like the RNIB as they begin to properly utilise the adapted facilities and sensory garden.

Here’s looking forward to the future!
