Can Muslims be British? Dinner & Discussion

February 2, 2017, 6:00pm - February 2, 2017, 10:00pm

The answer is an obvious YES! However the media and some of the general public have recently bought this issue to the public eye and as a result The Interfaith Council of Wales and Muslim Council Wales are hosting an event on Thursday February 2nd entitled "Can Muslims be British?" The evening is a 3 course meal and a talk entitled "Can Muslims be British?" a controversial title but one we hope will encourage lively discussion and answer a question that seems to be in the public eye regularlay. The aim is to bring about greater understanding between communities and have an open platform to ask some of those difficult questions. Tickets are priced at £10.50 and this includes a full 3 course meal at Saray Restaurant on City Rd, a venue which is known for serving authentic Middle Eastern Cuisine. Tickets can be purchased securely via muslimcouncilwales.org.uk/upcoming-events/ - We very much doubt there will be tickets available on the night but you can contact Amanda from the Muslim Council if you preferred to buy in person amanda.morris@muslimcouncilwales.org.uk The evening will start at 6pm with a non alcoholic drinks reception and serve dinner at 6:30pm, we will then settle into our first talk of the evening by renowned spoken word artist Miss Hanan Issa followed by Assistant Secretary General of MCW, Abdul-Azim Ahmed. We will end the evening with questions from the audience. I do sincerely hope you can join us. This is a wonderful opportunity to hear what it means to be British and Muslim and ask questions/comment amongst friends.
